Quran copies desecrated at Mater Dei hospital

Several copies of Muslim holy book the Quran kept in Mater Dei hospital's multi-faith room were desecrated yesterday, the Ministry of Health said this morning.  The "act of degradation" happened at some point yesterday afternoon, the ministry said.  In a statement, the ministry condemned the act of vandalism and the "cowards" who carried it out, and expressed its solidarity with the Muslim community.  Hospital authorities have reported the case to the police.
