The Planning Authority's Executive Council has unanimously rejected two planning control applications for development in Ta' Lehfar, Triq it-Tamar, Ghasri, and Triq il-Qsajjem, Xlendi, both outside the development zone.
In the Ghasri application for development, the Council cited that they strongly objected to the proposal, since the site is located ODZ and would also introduce additional threats to the countryside in the form of a precedent for similar proposals.
Whereas in the Xlendi application the Authority said that it objected to the proposal, not only because it is located ODZ and would also introduce additional threats to the countryside in the form of a precedent for similar proposals, but also since the site falls within a Natura 2000 site.
Both applications proposed to include land outside the Development Zone (ODZ) within the Limits to Development.
