There have been almost 250 deaths from traffic accidents since 2001, a Parliamentary question posed by PL MP Luciano Busuttil revealed.
In Response, Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela mentioned that the statistics are available up till end August 2016. In 2016, up to the aforementioned date, 14 deaths occurred due to car accidents. The year with the highest number of such deaths was 2009.
