PN approves Salvu Mallia as candidate for next general elections

The PN has approved Salvu Mallia as a candidate for the upcoming general elections during a meeting of the Executive Council that was held earlier tonight.

He will be contesting in the 2nd and 12th electoral districts.

The following was written in a statement: "Over the past days, while saying that he voted for Labour in the last elections, Mr Mallia said that in order for Malta to be cleaned of corruption, he will work for Simon Busuttil to become Prime Minister. He also said that in order for the country to be cleaned up, it would have to be the PN elected in the upcoming elections".

Opposition Leader Simon Busuttil, for his part, said that Mr Mallia's candidacy confirms that a coalition against corruption has begun to be built. He said that the PN will continue working to attract new candidates from all aspects of society.
