The Nationalist Party today announced a programme of activities that will be held at the Granaries on Floriana between 15 and 20 September to celebrate the 54th anniversary of Malta's Independence.
"A society that cares" is the slogan that was chosen this year, with secretary general Clyde Puli explaining that society should be built on five columns – safeguarding of life, decent living for everyone, care for the weakest, quality of life and Maltese/Gozitan identity.
The activities include entertainment by cover bands of Coldplay and Queen, which will be performing on 15 and 16 September.
The song festival linked with Independence Day will also form part of the programme, while a Teen Party will also be held. There will also be sport activities while, at the PN headquarters in Pieta, an exhibition of works by Gabriel Caruana will be set up
Political discussions with the participation of leader Adrian Delia – who will also be celebrating the first year at the party's helm – will take place every day, culminating in a mass meeting on 20 September.
