On 29 August the police said, the police received a report about an argument on Triq Isouard, Marsa.
Police went on site and investigated. It was uncovered that a group of Syrians broke through the door of a private residence, and went after another group of Syrians resulting in an argument, the police said.
An ambulance was called and two Syrians, a 31-year-old Hamrun resident and a 23-year-old Marsa resident were taken for care at Mater Dei hospital, as they suffered injuries.
As the investigations were ongoing, the police received a second report on St Anthony Street in Hamrun, where another home was broken into and a considerable amount of money was stolen.
The police yesterday arraigned two Syrians, one 22 and the other 20, in connection with the above.
Both were charged with aggravated theft, causing slight injuries while armed, threatening, causing voluntary damage, and putting people's lives in danger, the police said.
