Would I be right to say that MPs have a responsibility to their constituents who raise matters of concern with them? I know this is the practice in France and the UK and, probably in the other European countries. Thus, a person who has a concern about a government department or other organisation writes to their MP and asks them to investigate the matter, to take it up with the appropriate minister and to keep the constituent informed of the outcome. Could readers enlighten me as to whether this happens in Malta too? This article is part of our premium content. Full story is available on Times of Malta Premium.
