The old Ta’ Ċenċ

This photo was taken at Il-Kantra ta' Mġarr ix-Xini in the summer of 1990. The shoreline hadbeen 'privatised', that is, restricted to Ta' Ċenċhotel guests. The long patches of discoloration on the sea surface give the location of untreated sewage streaming north from the nearby Ras il-Ħobż outfall. This article is part of our premium content.
