The Nationalist Party warned today that it would sue the chairperson of the Broadcasting Authority unless she dropped her decision to ban reference to the Panama companies scandal in three minutes of airtime given to the party on Dissett. PN General Secretary Rosette Thake and the party spokesman on broadcasting, Clyde Puli told a press conference that the party was sending PBS the same text it had sent earlier for the three-minute right of reply granted to it following comments made by minister Konrad Mizzi on Dissett. Ms Thake said the Broadcasting Authority was effectively trying to silence the PN from speaking on the biggest political scandal witnessed in Malta when its chairperson told the party not to mention the scandal in the airtime allocated to it. "No one will silence the PN or stop it from seeking the explanations which the people expect," Ms Thake said. She said Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, his chief of staff Keith Schembri and Dr Mizzi had not only seized control of the Labour Party, but they were also trying to seize instruments of the state such as public broadcasting.
