A group of prisoners who went on hunger strike yesterday to complain about prison conditions ended this morning, Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela said.
The hunger strike started after the prisoners complained about poor conditions in Corradino Correctional Facility's Division 2.
The complaints revolved around a lack of adequate showering and clothes washing facilities.
Speaking this morning on radio programme Għandi xi Ngħid, Mr Abela said the Director of Prisons had met with the prisoners to assure them that their complaints will be seen to.
Division 2 was one of the older parts of the prison and needed refurbishing.
