Bomb disposal experts check package in St Paul's Bay, near Deborah Schembri's office

Soldiers from the army's bomb disposal unit have been called to Isouard Street in St Paul's Bay after a suspicious packet was seen close to the office of Parliamentary Secretary Deborah Schembri. Dr Schembri practised as a lawyer before being appointed parliamentary secretary last week, succeeding Michael Falzon.
